After you give birth to your child the common thing every mother does is nursing and changing diapers. So, during this time both nursing clothes and diapers are the most essential things, you will need. But there are other things too that you should always keep on hand, especially if you are going out. So, take a look at the essential things that you should pack with you.
Diapers
The obvious one here is diapers. A good rule of thumb is to have enough for 1-2 days that will cover a few hours outings. Depending on the baby’s age, on average you will be changing the baby’s diaper roughly every two hours, so having around 10-12 is a good amount.
Wipes
As for wipes, stick with one full package. This is great for when you want to just grab the whole changing pad and have all your supplies handy. However, we recommend having a larger pack at the ready–experienced moms know that baby wipes are helpful for many more other things.
Another Outfit
Another outfit is always a must for your bag. From excessive spit-up, spills and blowouts, you never know when your baby might need a change of clothes. So, always keep an extra even if you are going out only for an hour or two.
Nursing Scarves
Typically if you’re breastfeeding you don’t need any additional supplies. But if you are not comfortable breastfeeding in public place then along with wearing nursing clothes, you can carry nursing scarves too. There are several types of nursing scarves and nursing clothes available.
Beverages
Having water on hand is a must starting at around 6 months of age. Always have a sippy cup packed and ready with water. Don’t forget about yourself too. Keep water handy with you in a water bottle.

If you use them, store in a clean bag along with extra pacifiers so that, you can always keep a clean one on hand. Toss in as many as burp clothes you think you’ll need, then add a few more.
